AEB: Russian car, LCV sales rise 0.6% to 103,064 units in Jan

MOSCOW, Feb 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) rose 0.6% on the year to 103,064 vehicles in January, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said in a statement on Wednesday.

Sales of Russia’s largest car manufacturer AvtoVAZ went up 3% on the year to 21,531 vehicles in January.

“Automotive sales stayed above 100,000 in January with a minor growth of 0.6% compared to the same month last year. This is a positive outcome, especially considering the 2% increase in VAT implemented by January 1,” the AEB said quoting Joerg Schreiber, chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee.
